Paul Tuck (Taffy)

Paul today

Paul married Christine Levitt over 30 years ago and has lived in Harpenden for the last 29 years.  They have two children Abby, 25 and Nick 22.  Paul works in "the computer industry" and still keeps in touch with Mick Heylin and Andy Millar and his wife Celia Winfield who are also Old Apsleyans.

Now young Christine was in the year below Paul and 'our lot' and was an A stream pupil.  She was exceptionally attractive, and I am sure still is, and I have already challenged Paul on how an ugly Taff such as he managed to win her.  Paul has offered no explanation.

I remember Paul from school with a lot of affection.  He was a "good bloke" and joined in all and any scams that were going.  A lasting memory for me, when I contemplate those early years, was how dapper and smart Paul always looked.   His clothes were always very clean and regulation.  Shoes were always polished and shone. Hair always neat and tidy.  He must have been the only boy in our year whose games kit was ironed and even washed more than once a term.  I have a sneaky feeling that he even blanco'd his plimpsoles.  He was relatively quiet until he had had a drink or six.  I have a vague recollection of Paul breaking into song once or twice.  I guess that was the "Valley" in the man.  Paul participated in the TOADS and was a founder member.

Paul sent me the above photograph unsolicited.  It was, he said, his employers latest photo of him.  You still look 'dapper' to me Taff and I bet you polish your shoes every day!
